Cameroon’s government has made strides in recent years in raising the standard of its educational system. Public and private schools, universities, and technical institutes all contribute to Cameroon’s system of higher and further education today. Primary education, secondary education, and higher education make up the three tiers of the educational system. Secondary and university education cost money but are optional. Primary schooling is free and mandatory.

Finally, the history of Cameroonian education is fraught with colonialism, political meddling, and economic difficulties. Nonetheless, the government has made strides in recent years to enhance the standard of education, and this sector continues to be an important focus for the growth of the country.
