Impact of digitalisation on the education system of Nigeria
The introduction of digital technology has had a profound effect on Nigeria’s educational system. Adeyemo and Adeyemo (2019) found that when digital tools are used in the classroom, both learning outcomes and access to education improve. According to the results, students may now study independently and at their convenience thanks to the widespread availability of educational resources made possible by digitization. In addition, new approaches to education have emerged as a direct result of digitalization.
Multimedia resources such as films, animations, and interactive simulations are just a few examples of how teaching and learning have become more exciting and dynamic in recent years (Oyelere, 2018). Because of this, student engagement and motivation have grown, leading to better academic performance. However, digitalization has not had a wholly good effect on Nigeria’s educational system.

This has expanded the divide between the wealthy and the poor by limiting the latter’s access to educational opportunities. Concerns concerning the quality of education have also been expressed in relation to the usage of digital tools in the classroom.

Some teachers say that using technology in the classroom may not be as beneficial as using more conventional means of instruction, and this has raised worries about the quality of education. As a result, the government can now educate more people for the same budget. In conclusion, the use of digital technologies has had a profound effect on Nigeria’s educational system. Use of digital technology has boosted efficiency and cost-effectiveness in the education system, as well as improved learning results, access to education, and more.
