CHAPTER ONE

Background of the Study

The teaching of accounting in secondary schools has been a subject of interest for many researchers and educators. The prospects and challenges associated with it have been widely discussed in the literature (Smith, 2015; Johnson, 2018).

Smith (2015) argues that the teaching of accounting in secondary schools is crucial for preparing students for future careers in business and finance.
