1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

This is the case, in spite of the fact that computer technology has reduced decision time by its fast means of data analysis. Mass communication on its part has a heightened public awareness of consumer product through advertisement giving rise to produce economics work easier and faster. 1.3 OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY

Organizations are made up of human resources (manpower) who work together to success growth and continuity of the organization. To achieve these, the manpower has to be adequately trained and developed. The objectives of the study are as follows

Lastly, the study will be of help to students of business administration and management as a valuable reference material and for further research.

 

1.6 SCOPE OF THE STUDY.

The study is focused on the effects of employee training and development on cooperative organization growth and emphasis on cooperative in Ngor Okpala questionnaires were administered to selected sample from the company secondly, data were collected with cooperative is Ngor okpala.

 

 

1.7 LIMITATIONS AND SCOPE OF THE STUDY

The research would have made a comparative study of many establishments even beyond Ngor Okpala but for some limitation posed by finance, time written materials and unwillingness of respondents.

  1. Finance: finance resources are required to carry out good libraries but limited finance posed a constraint.
  2. Time: Time available for this research was not enough to carry out an extensive study on this topic.
  3. Written materials: The written materials found on this topic were not enough to help the researcher carryout a comprehensive study on the subject.
  4. Unwillingness of respondents: to answer questions posed a constraint.

 

1.8 DEFINITION OF TERMS.

DEVELOPMENT: those activities undertaken to expose employees to perform additional duties and assume position of importance in the organizational hierarchy.

EDUCATION: long term training activities aimed at preparing a worker for a variety of roles in the organization.

Manpower: number of people available for work, service in an organization.

PRODUCTIVITY: the measures of how well resources are brought together in the organization and utilized for accomplishing a set of result.

TRAINING: Process through which organization build the skills and the ability of non-managerial employees.

ORGANIZATION: is a combination of people of individual’s efforts working together in pursuit of certain common purposes known as organization goals.

MOTIVATION: this explained as the incentive to work towards goals to improved workers performance.

RECRUITMENT: is the searching for prospective employees and stimulating them to apply for the job openings in the organization.

PERFORMANCE: is the way the employee are working in the organization.

OBJECTIVE: to provide for the further manpower needs of the organization in terms of skills number and ages.
