CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background of the Study
Shortage of food and vegetable during dry season prompted the creation of green house.
A green house is an enclose structure with walls and roofs made of transparent material such as glass or transparent plastic in which plants requires regulated climatic conditions are grown it is designed for the production of tender or out of season plants against excessive weather condition these structures range in size from sheds to industrial sized building.
The interior of a green house exposed to sunlight because significantly warmer than the external temperature protecting its content in cold weather the modern green house is usually a glass or plastic indoors frame structure that is used for the production of plants that requires special condition. The plants grown in a greenhouse fall into several broad categories based on their temperature requirement. In countries with cool climate commercial green fruits are used to grow tomatoes and other warm weather vegetables.
1.2 Statement of Problem
Rehabilitate an existing greenhouse which was gotten by fire during dry season and to have a store for storage of farm tools and agro chemicals.
1.3 Aim and Objectives

The aim of the project is to rehabilitate an existing green house and to improve it

The objectives are as follows:
- To create a store for keeping of implement and agro chemicals
- To supply water for watering the crops
- To plant vegetable in the green g house (tomatoes)
- To create protection around the green house
- To improve the soil
1.4 Significant of Project
To have a befitting green house to aid students in practical
1.5 Scope of Project
Building of the store and replacing the polythene and net of the green house.
1.4 Definition of Terms
Solar polythene: a greenhouse polythene or plastic is made to be more durable than regular plastic it is specially made to restore tearing and stand up to weather. This type of plastic is perfect for wrapping around different size and shaped around vets doors and windows
Net: depending on the decree of ventilation and the type of insect that we try not to get in we use different thickness, the most widespread of them in 200mm/ 100mm threads per cm2 and 160mm/100mm thread per cm2
Wood: wood is a porous and fibrous structural tissue found in the stems and roots of tree’s it is an organic material, a natural composite of cellulose fibers that are strong in tens ion. It is known largely for its important in furniture making and as a construction materials
Nail: a nail long pointed strap steel metal use in joining of two materials together like wood and they are in categories such as 4 inch 3 inch 2 inch
Purling: a purling is a horizontal beam that provide intermediate support for the common rafters of a roof construction
Rafter: a rafter is a structure component that is used as part of a root construction
Agro chemicals: is a chemical product use in agriculture in most cases agro chemical refers to pesticide including insecticide herbicide fungicides and nematicides
Knapsack sprayer: is a spraying apparatus consisting of a knapsack tank together with pressuring device line and spraying nozzle.
Manure: manure us an organic matter that is used as organic fertilizer in agriculture it consist of animal feces
