Free Essay – BETTER LATE THAN EVER

Better Late than ever

Once upon a time, in the bustling city of Lagos, Nigeria, lived a young boy named Chijioke. Chijioke was a bright and curious child, always eager to learn and explore. He lived with his loving parents and two younger sisters in a small but cozy house. His father was a fisherman, and his mother, a seamstress. Despite their humble lifestyle, they were a happy family, always filled with laughter and love.

Chijioke was known for his tardiness. No matter how hard he tried, he always seemed to be running late. Whether it was for school, soccer practice, or even family dinners, Chijioke was always the last one to arrive. His parents and teachers often scolded him for his tardiness, but it seemed like no amount of scolding could change his habit. His friends would tease him, calling him “Chijioke the Latecomer.”

One day, Chijioke’s school announced a national essay writing competition. The winner would get a scholarship to study in one of the best schools in the country. Chijioke, who loved to write, was thrilled. He spent days and nights researching, writing, and perfecting his essay. However, as usual, he was running late. The deadline was fast approaching, and he was still not done with his essay.

On the day of the deadline, Chijioke woke up early and worked tirelessly on his essay. He skipped breakfast, ignored his friends’ calls, and even missed his favorite soccer game. He was determined to finish his essay and submit it on time. As the sun began to set, Chijioke finally finished his essay. He rushed to the post office, hoping he was not too late.

When he arrived at the post office, he was relieved to find that it was still open. He quickly submitted his essay and returned home, exhausted but satisfied. Weeks later, the results of the competition were announced. To everyone’s surprise, Chijioke had won the competition. His essay was praised for its originality, depth, and eloquence. His parents were overjoyed, and his friends were in awe.

From that day forward, Chijioke was no longer known as “Chijioke the Latecomer.” Instead, he was known as “Chijioke the Winner.” He learned a valuable lesson that day – it’s better to be late than never. His story served as an inspiration to many, reminding them that it’s never too late to strive for success. Despite his habitual tardiness, Chijioke proved that with determination and hard work, one can overcome any obstacle.
