Evaluation of Poverty on Employee Productivity

Evaluation of Poverty on Employee Productivity

There has been a lot of research done on how low wages affect productivity in the workplace. There are a number of ways in which employees’ output might suffer when they are poor. To begin, those who are economically disadvantaged confront a number of challenges, including the inability to save money, a lack of basic requirements, and few avenues for professional growth.

Anxiety, sadness, and other mental health problems brought on by such pressures can have a major influence on an employee’s ability to concentrate and do well in their jobs.

Another way in which poverty might reduce an employee’s productivity is by limiting their access to high-quality education and healthcare. If people aren’t able to get the education and training they need, they might not be able to do a good job. Similarly, if workers cannot get timely and appropriate medical care, they may be more frequently incapacitated by disease and miss more work as a result.

In addition, poor wages and a lack of employment prospects might perpetuate the cycle of poverty. Poor people often have to work long hours or numerous jobs to make ends meet, which may be taxing on their bodies and minds. Because of this, they may get unmotivated and exhausted, thus affecting their work.

Employers and politicians should take into account the effect that poverty has on worker output. Fair salaries, accessible healthcare and educational opportunities, and assistance programmes for those experiencing financial hardship are all examples. Employers may do their part to boost productivity and morale by focusing on alleviating their workers’ financial hardships.
